The Forté Door’s inner core

The Forté door is available with a choice of two high-performance cores and locking mechanisms. Our PU foam-filled core is built with maximum thermal efficiency in mind. Or, for added strength and security you have the option to upgrade to our Forté Solid Core for ultimate peace of mind.

Standard core

Specifically designed for the UK market, our standard Forté core delivers outstanding thermal performance to help prevent heat from escaping your home.

Made from a PU foam, the core is supported by a robust laminated veneer lumber (LVL) subframe for extra strength and rigidity. This mix of materials works together to provide added protection against the threat of break-ins and guard against water ingress in the harshest of weather conditions.

Extreme solid core (Upgrade)

To further improve your Forté door’s security and performance you can opt to upgrade the core to an Extreme Solid Core.

The Extreme Solid Core features an inner foam core that’s strengthened with the addition of a series of horizontal timber plinths. This middle section is then cased in a highly secure casing that’s made up of two aluminium and exterior grade plywood. It is then finished in an extra-resilient 4mm GRP outer layer.

Combined with our signature Extreme locking system, this Extreme Solid Core has been tested to meet the standards of the police-recognised ‘Secure by Design’ standard.

Forté doors cassette system

The Forté collection utilises an exclusive glazing cassette system that features Foam in Place technology. This layer of foam creates a superior seal around the decorative glazing that prevents water ingress and helps make the door more thermally efficient.
